We see the challenges of our daily work as an impetus for growth and action. We feel that our involvement has a real impact on the lives and functioning of others. We believe in corporate social responsibility, which is why we engage in projects that support non-work activities.
Out of a need for action that brings real change, we established the Team Extreme SGU Foundation in January 2024. We believe that by combining forces, commitment and support of local communities, we can positively affect our surroundings.
It’s worth it to start changes with ourselves, so we began with “our own backyard” – cleaning up wild garbage dumps in Silesia. The next step was to support young people – we donated equipment to improve the comfort of training for uniformed classes and launched a scholarship program for the most talented students.
We mention selected activities carried out by the Foundation below.
Heavy rainfall for several days caused by the Genoese low in September 2024 led to flooding of rivers in the southern Oder River basin. Due to its size, the flood is being compared to the 1997 flood of the millennium.
In the face of the devastation caused by it, we decided to support the area around the municipality of Lądek Zdrój. We delivered 50 generators, 1 000 liters of fuel, 1 000 liters of drinking water, 300 kg of dry provisions and canned goods to the site.
We installed 12 SOVA AI 3.0 monitoring towers, with which we monitored critical installations designated by local authorities from the Field Operations Center. In cooperation with the K2 Security Agency, we also carried out preventive measures to safeguard collection points from unwanted incidents. Our posts were active for 8 months.
In 2024, the Team Extreme SGU Foundation took patronage of the IV HC Hoover High School in Ruda Śląska. We implemented an academic scholarship program for the best students of uniformed classes and an individual scholarship for exceptional commitment. We also helped with the purchase of items necessary for shooting training: collimators and targeting devices.
As a gesture of gratitude for their repeated help with our campaigns, we awarded the most talented students. With each certificate presented at the end of the 2023/2024 school year, students received a nomination entitling them to apply for a Foundation scholarship.
We were moved to accept thanks “for helping to shape the younger generation.”
The Silesian Voivodeship is facing an environmental challenge – wild garbage dumps proliferating on the outskirts of cities, in forests, parks and nature reserves. The scale of the problem is enormous. Not only do they negatively affect the landscape, but most importantly they pose a threat to soil and water, which can lead to the spread of diseases.
In order to counteract this phenomenon, in 2024, with the support of local authorities, we have organized cleanup actions several times for the Żabie Doły nature and landscape complex and Amendy Park in Łagiewniki.
We provided full logistical and equipment support (quad, ropes for pulling big tags, bus, trailers). The City of Bytom – a co-organizer of the action – and Waste World Sp. z o.o. equipped us with the necessary accessories: garbage bags, gloves, hygiene products, etc., and FCC Poland Sp. z o.o. took care of waste collection.
At the end, we invited all participants to a barbecue to regenerate after hard work.
